Welcome to my Portfolio! My name is Amelia Violet Kamin (she/her).

   I am an illustrator, multidisciplinary artist, and writer based in Oakland, CA. 

My inspiration most often comes from the people I meet, things I experience, animals I love, as well as dipping into nostalgia, which I explore by bringing my childhood stuffed animals to life.

   Another important side of me as an artist is my experience as a disabled and chronically ill person. Starting a few years ago, I unfortunately became increasingly disabled with multiple chronic illnesses such as POTS, MCAS, hEDS, Endometriosis, Migraine, PMOS, MECFS, and Fibromyalgia. These conditions have made it so that I can't work a traditional job, but they've also given me newfound inspiration for the illustration work and writing I want to do. I have also become even more grateful for life and its beauty, especially in the little unexpected things. 

   Overall, I am so grateful to be alive on this Earth, and if I can help someone else see a glimpse of the rainbow lens I view the world through, I have done my job!
